How do I apply to CUTS?

You can print the documents below or contact the Center for Urban Theological Studies at (215) 329-5400 to obtain an application, any related documents or additional information. If you prefer, you are also welcome to call CUTS and make an appointment to visit with an Admission Counselors if that is more convenient for you.

The following documents and submissions are required to complete your application process. Although it is preferred that you return applicable materials in a single envelope CUTS will accept completed documents as they become available.

Application for Admission and Application Fee

• Complete and sign all portions of the Application for Admission.
• Return the completed form with the $25 non-refundable application fee to the address noted on the application.

Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

• Immediately apply for aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov even if you think you will not qualify
• Upon applying you will be assigned a confirmation number for your records
• Submit a FAFSA whether you plan to apply for student grants or college loans
• For help toll-free between 8:00 a.m. and midnight EST, call 1-800-433-3243
• Comply with all FAFSA and CUTS financial aid application deadlines

Personal Statement

• Write a 1-2 page typed essay in which you summarize your family background, ministry, career goals, and why you want to attend The Center for Urban Theological Studies.
• Return the essay with your name and contact information to the address on the application.

Ecclesiastical Reference Form

• An Ecclesiastical Reference Form from your pastor describing your church involvement is required.
• Return the form to the address on the application.

English Proficiency Assessment

• You will be required to complete the English Proficiency Assessment as directed by CUTS admissions counselors.

Official High School Transcript/GED Certificate

• Send the enclosed request form to your high school.
• Be sure to indicate any other names you may have used such as a maiden, married, family name, etc., and return the sealed envelope to the address noted on the application

Official College Transcripts

• CUTS Admissions Office provides transcript request forms
• Mail college transcript request forms directly to each college/institution attended
• An official transcript from each college or post-secondary institution attended must be mailed directly from the institution to The Center for Urban Theological Studies in a sealed envelope to the address noted on the application
